DESCRIPTION:How smart sensors can noticeably improve your production: In this knowledge snack\, we show two field-tested prototypes of smart sensors that are installed directly on the machine tool in our demo production - the real laboratory of the Application and Test Centre AI at Fraunhofer IIS. The sensors continuously record process data\, recognise worn tools at an early stage and provide reliable information for interventions in real time. For this purpose\, pre-trained neural networks are implemented in energy-efficient microcontrollers and specialised AI accelerator chips.\nThe results: optimised processes\, less downtime\, fewer rejects and measurably better production quality.
