In a three-month course funded by the Federal Employment Agency by means of an education voucher, 12 participants are taught the basics of working in a laboratory and cleanroom environment. After completing the course, participants are qualified to work directly in the laboratory.

The 368-hour training programme is carried out in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology and is designed to be very practice-oriented. The training takes place in modular learning units, in each of which theoretical and practical content is taught, with the practical laboratory components taking up more and more space as the programme progresses.

The participants do not need any previous training in the biotechnology or laboratory sector, so they can be from outside the industry. On the last day of the training programme, 1 June 2023, biosaxony offers interested companies the opportunity to get to know the graduates at a matchmaking event in BIO CITY Leipzig.
