LISA: Skills & Workforce in Life Sciences

The LISA Study (Leipzig Initial Study for Skills & Work in Life Sciences) is a comprehensive workforce analysis running from October 2025 to June 2026, designed to strengthen the talent pipeline for Leipzig's growing Life Sciences sector.

Our goals:

  • Assess current and future skills needs across all qualification levels - from vocational training to academic roles.
  • Analyze employment data and conduct expert interviews with companies, training providers, and educational institutions.
  • Identify gaps between industry demand and available talent.
  • Deliver actionable recommendations to improve training programs and enhance collaboration between businesses and schools.
  • Explore innovative solutions such as collaborative apprenticeship models for technical roles.

Partners:

LISA is led by leap:up GmbH in close cooperation with HTWK Leipzig, supported by the Fachkräfteallianz Leipzig and the City of Leipzig Economic Development Office (Amt für Wirtschaftsförderung der Stadt Leipzig). We engage over 40 stakeholders from biotech and medtech companies, vocational schools, chambers of commerce, and research institutions across the region.
