Before each radiotherapy session, the device creates an individual plan that takes current changes in tumour size and organ location into account. Thanks to the combination of high-resolution imaging, artificial intelligence and medical expertise, the therapy can be tailored much more precisely to the individual patient. This increases the chances of success and noticeably reduces side effects.
For Leipzig University Hospital, the acquisition is a milestone. Director Nils Nicolay speaks of a paradigm shift in radiotherapy. Medical Director Christoph Josten emphasised the close connection between human expertise and machine intelligence, which ensures patients receive state-of-the-art technology and the best possible care.
With this investment, Leipzig is strengthening its role as a centre of cutting-edge medical research and innovative patient care.
