ScaDS.AI Meetup x AI Stammtisch Life Sciences

What specific applications does artificial intelligence offer in the life sciences? Which issues are currently of particular interest in research, industry and the community and how can the potential of AI in the life sciences best be realised?

In collaboration with leap:up GmbH, a company that supports founders, start-ups and SMEs in the life sciences, we would like to present the use of artificial intelligence in this field at the AI Round Table Life Sciences. Together with representatives from research and practice, we will provide an overview of current research in the field of "Life Science & Medicine" at ScaDS.AI and current AI projects at Bayer.

After the presentations, you will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with the speakers and guests in a relaxed atmosphere over drinks in the OpenLab and to discuss new project ideas, questions or results together.

17:10: Presentation of ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig
Introduction to the Living Lab and current topics at the AI Competence Centre

17:20-17:50: "Life Science & Medicine" research area at ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig
The team leaders of the "Life Science & Medicine" research area will provide insights into current projects, methods and research focuses - from data availability and modelling to specific use cases.

17:55-18:25: "Journal Blast": Medical Imaging Research @ Bayer
Insights into current publications and AI approaches from the industry
A Bayer employee will present five to ten current research papers on topics such as representation learning, synthetic data generation, classification and object recognition.
You will learn about current approaches and find out how closely these are interlinked with university issues - an exciting perspective from industrial research.

From 18:30: OpenLab & Networking
Exchange with the speakers and guests over drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. There is room for questions, project ideas and spontaneous discussions.
