The brand-new FIEGE logistics centre in Borna, south of Leipzig, is one of the newest locations in the global network of sites operated by logistics service provider FIEGE. The ultra-modern property offers more than 40,000 square metres of logistics space for customers from the healthcare sector, spread over four bays and with direct access to the A72 motorway.
A special quality feature: the FIEGE site in Borna, which enables the storage of water-polluting substances thanks to a WGK III-capable hall floor, not only fulfils the highest logistics standards, but also the highest sustainability standards. The ESG-compliant logistics centre is aiming for DGNB Gold certification (Verision 2023), complies with the EG 40 standard and has its own biodiversity concept. On the roof, two photovoltaic systems with a good 10,000 PV modules and an output of around 4,500 kilowatt peak (kWp) produce solar power, which is used for the site's own e-charging infrastructure, among other things. The property is also equipped with an air-to-water heat pump and energy-saving LED lighting.
