OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH has been a fixture on the German property market for more than 65 years. As a subsidiary of Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba) and part of its real estate group, OFB develops, realises and manages high-quality and sustainable real estate projects throughout Germany. OFB pursues a holistic sustainability strategy that takes equal account of economic, ecological and social aspects.
At six locations in Germany - including Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, Leipzig, Erfurt, Munich and Düsseldorf - around 140 employees work on designing sustainable properties. The Leipzig location plays a special role in this: OFB actively contributes to dynamic urban development with modern projects in the office and commercial segment as well as in the life science sector. Two current projects underline this: BioSquare Leipzig as a centre for biotechnology and the innovative NETZWERK office complex, which sets sustainable standards and strengthens Leipzig's attractiveness as a business and property location. With its nationwide expertise and strong regional roots, OFB is driving forward sustainable property development in Saxony from its base in Leipzig.
Area of activity:
OFB acts as a project developer and is responsible for the holistic planning, management and implementation of property projects. It assumes the role of property developer and coordinates all partners involved, such as architects, engineers and construction companies. As an investor partner, OFB develops projects from the concept idea through to turnkey handover. OFB also acts as an asset manager, ensuring long-term value retention, letting and sustainable utilisation.

OFB works closely with architects, specialist planners and construction companies to realise projects efficiently and to a high standard. A key partner is HELABA, which contributes strategic and financial strength as the parent company.
OFB is also active in property-specific industry associations such as the DGNB and ULI and maintains networks with local authorities and business development agencies.
Products / services:
OFB develops properties with a high degree of technological flexibility that are also specially tailored to the requirements of research and development-intensive industries. If necessary, the space is customised to the specific requirements of the user. This includes modular laboratory and office space that can be quickly adapted to new research approaches or growing teams. The buildings are equipped with state-of-the-art building technology, digital infrastructure and a sustainable energy supply. Particular attention is paid to ensuring regulatory standards in the laboratory and biotech sector, for example with regard to ventilation technology, safety and hygiene.
Special features:
With the BioSquare, OFB offers the largest private-sector space in a building complex at the Alte Messe. The space can be efficiently customised and expanded to suit specific users.
