New impetus for the medical and medical technology sector

Messe Düsseldorf, organiser of the two leading trade fairs Compamed and Medica, is satisfied: A total of almost 5000 exhibitors from all over the world have registered for the industry event from 14 to 17 November. For Compamed 2022, this means full capacity utilisation at its traditional location in exhibition halls 8a and 8b.

„The impetus provided by Compamed in combination with Medica is hugely important for the industry. Participants from all areas of the healthcare industry need orientation and a comprehensive overview of reliable and quickly available delivery options and business-saving alternatives right now," explains Christian Grosser, Director Health & Medical Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf. In their globally unique combination, Medica and Compamed will once again present the entire value and process chain of medical technology and a complete range of medical products, devices and instruments.

Compamed is a must in the diary for anyone who wants to keep up to date with trends in the upstream development or production stages of the medical technology industry. This is where the supplier companies present their high-tech and service solutions. Components, microsystems technology, material processing and coatings, additive manufacturing/ 3D printing, production technology and machines, packaging and services are the main topics, which are also reflected in the programmes of the two integrated specialist forums: The Compamed High-Tech Forum by IVAM in Hall 8a and the Compamed Suppliers Forum in Hall 8b.

Improved digital service at Compamed – 365 days a year

Before, during and after Compamed and Medica, exhibitors and visitors can also use an optimised digital service. The new exhibitor profile is the centrepiece of the exhibiting companies' digital trade fair presence. According to the organiser, it is „an important lever for being found“ – digitally and on site in the exhibition halls.

„Companies must not only present themselves and their products in the exhibition halls, but also online“, says Wolfram N. Diener, Chairman of the Management Board of Messe Düsseldorf. „Our trade fairs take place 365 days a year on our online portals.“ A new feature is the modern design of the exhibitor profile, which has also been further optimised for use on mobile devices. Visitors to the databases can filter the offer according to their personal interests. This makes it easier to find companies, their products, trade fair events and company news, says Diener. Contacting the companies has also been simplified: personal favourites lists can be created at the touch of a button - which should also make it easier for visitors to prepare for the trade fair.

Deep-dive talks as a „warm-up“ for Medica

The digital talk rounds „Medica Deep Dive“ were launched as a „warm-up“ in the sense of targeted content preparation for participation in the trade fair. They have been taking place since the end of September and are intended to focus on particularly relevant trend topics in the healthcare sector. The moderated panel discussions on „Diagnostics of infectious diseases“, „Artificial intelligence/big data in medical applications“ and „Smart Hospital“ can be streamed via the industry portal Medica.de.

This year's Medica will focus on laboratory technology and diagnostics, medical technology and electromedicine, consumer goods and consumables, physiotherapy and orthopaedic technology as well as IT systems and IT solutions. This year's conference programme once again includes the 45th German Hospital Conference as the leading event for the management of German hospitals, as well as the Dimimed conference for disaster and defence medicine and the Medica Medicine + Sports Conference for the global specialist scene of sports medicine and sports science.
