Particular attention was paid to the interplay between biotechnology, artificial intelligence and digital technologies. The key theme, TechBio, demonstrated how data-driven approaches can accelerate the development of new diagnostics and therapies. In addition to the discussions, the event served primarily as a networking opportunity. A total of 425 partnering meetings took place. Start-ups, research institutions and companies presented their developments through pitches and poster presentations. The BayOConnect Innovation Award was presented to the start-up BugSense. The company develops paper-based tests that can be used to detect urinary tract infections and antibiotic resistance both in clinical settings and at the point of care. BioM sent out another positive signal by signing a cooperation agreement with the BIOGA life sciences cluster from Galicia. The aim is to expand joint projects and technology transfers in the fields of biotechnology, digital health and artificial intelligence, and to further deepen European cooperation.
