The Baden-Württemberg Foundation, the Joachim Herz Foundation and the Stifterverband are once again awarding up to 15 fellowships for innovations in university teaching in 2013. The aim of the programme is to

  • Incentives for the development and testing of new teaching and examination formats (e.g. concepts for research-based or problem-based learning or for the examination of key competences) or the redesign of modules and study phases (e.g. the introductory phase of studies or practical phases, for example from the point of view of
  • interdisciplinarity or increasing heterogeneity of students);
  • to promote exchange on university teaching and the dissemination of the projects developed by networking the fellows,to analyse the effects of these innovations on students' learning success and skills acquisition
  • and, as a result, to contribute to the systematic further development of teaching in curricular, didactic and methodological terms.
  • University teaching as defined in the call for applications also includes examining, counselling and advising students.

    The fellowships are individual, personalised funding. Although the respective teaching development projects can be developed in a team, the fellowship is only awarded to one individual in each case.
