Fraunhofer IWU and UKL develop innovative navigation solution for neurosurgical procedures
Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU and Leipzig University Hospital (UKL) have developed a new application for commercially available data glasses that aims to make minimally invasive neurosurgical procedures more precise and safer. With the help of an app, high-resolution MRI image data is projected into the glasses so that surgeons can guide their instruments with millimetre precision.
