On 21 and 22 April, the German and European biotech industry will meet in Leipzig. Around 1000 international participants from science, business, politics, administration and the media are expected to attend the "German Biotech Days" at the Congress Centre at the Zoo to discuss current research and developments and the framework conditions for the industry. Federal Research Minister Dorothee Bär has agreed to give a keynote speech at the opening plenary session, as has the Mayor and Councillor for Economic Affairs of the City of Leipzig, Clemens Schülke. In the plenary session on the second day, participants can expect a discussion on the geopolitical framework conditions and the sovereignty of the local biotech location with, among others, Gitta Connemann, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economics and Rainer Becker, Deputy Director-General for Health at the EU Commission. Dirk Panter, Saxon State Minister for Economic Affairs, will also be speaking.
