The evaluation was based on quality indicators and patient judgements from a total of around 700 hospitals. Stern magazine also ranks the UKL among the ten best in its survey "Germany's Excellent Hospitals 2025/2026". In 34 out of 39 specialist areas, including bariatric surgery, oncology, cardiology and dentistry, the Leipzig doctors received particularly good ratings.
Head of Medicine Christoph Josten sees the rankings as confirmation of the high quality of care and the expertise of the entire team. The results are part of a series of other good placings that the UKL regularly achieves in national rankings. For Leipzig University Medicine, the awards are not only a boost to its image, but also evidence of the growing importance of the location in the German hospital landscape.
