The focus is on expanding joint innovation programmes, supporting start-ups at various stages of development, and facilitating networking with experienced entrepreneurs, investors and industry partners. Furthermore, the aim is to raise the international profile of the German health innovation ecosystem. The collaboration builds on shared experience within the Creative Destruction Lab Berlin Health Stream, which supports science-based start-ups in developing marketable business models. In future, this initiative is to be further developed and supplemented with additional programmes that support the journey from research to commercialisation. With the Unified Hub, the partners are adopting a nationally coordinated approach to health innovation. Rather than establishing new regional structures, the aim is to pool existing strengths and link them more closely together. This creates an expanded network for companies, researchers and founders, designed to facilitate access to expertise, industry partners and funding opportunities.
